Research Power Inc. has been engaged by the Department of Health and Wellness to evaluate a pilot project of the blended capitation funding model, a different way to pay family doctors. The model is designed to encourage more team-based care and to make it easier for patients to get the care they need, when and where they need it. The pilot project is beginning in July 2022 and will run until at least March 2023. For more information, please see the Department of Health and Wellness press release.
RPI’s evaluation work, led by Partner Clare Levin, will include developing the evaluation framework (currently underway) and conducting the evaluation. The evaluation framework includes a project logic model, performance indicators that assess progress towards the outputs and outcomes identified in the logic model, key evaluation questions, and an implementation plan. RPI will also develop data collection tools, conduct all data collection, and analyze and report on the findings.
